In this article we explain how to create a transport order for one or few containers.
Step 1: Go to the Streamliner in your Community
Go to the Dashboard and enter the Community page. You will find the Streamliner under ‘Plugins’ on the right side.
Step 2: Go to the 'Multimodal Transport' tab
Once you've entered the Streamliner, you will find the 'Multimodal Transport' tab in the center/top of the page.
Step 3: Add Container(s) to the basket
Click on the Container. The right pane will open and will show the button 'Add to basket' . Click on 'Add to basket', the number of containers in the basket will increase.
You can do this for multiple Containers, one after the other. Once you've added all Containers for a single zone, click on the blue 'Basket' button in the top right corner.
Click on ‘Assign to carrier’ button if you handover the transport to a carrier.
Step 4: Create the transport orders for your carrier
Streamliner will guide you through a simple process to create a transport order for your carrier where you decide on the pick up place and date.
If you are packing only one container, packaging reference will be filled automatically with container number, but this field can be edited. If you are packing several containers, packaging reference will be empty. This reference is normally the reference that will be used by your carrier to select what he has to deliver.
Some details:
- Packaging units field is disabled and each container = 1 bulk (default value for now).
- Select your carrier: here you can specify the Carrier for your package. If you have any default Carrier in your community-company settings, this company will be set automatically (but still possible to change).
- Select the pickup location: you can only use a transport order if you have already defined the possible pick up locations in your supply chain tree. See mini guide ‘Onboard as Supplier’ or the knowledge base if you need help. If you have any default pickup location specified in community-company settings, this value will be automatically set.
- Select the appropriate pickup time for ultimate delivery date, if it was not set or you want to change it.
- Adding containers button is disabled, will be available in next releases.
Just click on ‘Assign to carrier’ button in the right upper corner if all data is ok. In case you want to cancel this operation and return to the MMT overview, click cancel button, the cross on the left right top.
Let see which containers can be added to the basket, e.g.:
- Your container should have a destination with zone specified to support the booking
- Your container should have ETA dest. calculated (usually it happens after a route is linked to a container)
- You can combine containers for the same destination (now it's a combination of location & zone)
- Now you can assign only those containers which have no other transport orders or shipments linked
In case your container does not match any of the criteria from the list above, you will see a corresponding error message.
