In the previous article, we had a closer look at working with Orders.
Once the Receiver issues and validates an Order, it can be scheduled for delivery in one or multiple Shipments. You can learn how to book a Shipment in the knowledge base. If the Shipment is transporting the last batch of goods to complete an Order, don’t forget to mark it when booking. If needed, the Shipment can be edited later on.
If the automatic validation is not set, or the proposed Shipment does not fit the agreed upon conditions, such a Shipment needs to be approved or denied by the Receiver manually.
Shipments awaiting approval will have the following notification in the Shipment details pane:

If multiple Shipments need to be booked on a daily basis, it may make more sense to save many clicks and do a mass upload. Mass upload of Shipments is an easy way to feed the SBA with Shipments from a .csv file.
Finally, the goods arrive at the designated Location and the Shipment can be handled by the Receiver. The Receiver is responsible for filling in the registration points in order to indicate timestamps of each stage of the delivery (Arrived, In, Docked, Unloaded, Out).
However, more often than we would like, things happen. Issues related to Shipments can be reported both by the Receiver and the Supplier through the Issue Management. Issues are configurable by the Receiver on the company level. Apart from Issue Management, both Receiver and Supplier can upload photos. The communication can further happen through comments.
Until the Shipment is fully delivered (that is, all 5 registration points are filled in), it can be cancelled. A cancellation of a Shipment can happen if, for instance, the truck is not loaded in a safe way and unloading cannot be performed.
Apart from cancellation, a Shipment can also be deleted. However, this is only possible if the Shipment has no registration points entered.
Apart from Shipments with Orders, the Receiver can also book Provisional Shipments (that is, Shipment without any Order). Provisional Shipments block the slots for a certain Supplier, which can be used by adding Orders later or booking another Shipment with Orders for this slot.
Provisional Shipments that are not used will be cleaned up 24 hours before the actual planned date.
