How to use a provisional shipment as carrier for an order less shipment.

This article assumes that you are familiar with the basic operations to create shipments . This article is useful for carrier in a 3PL community. 

A provisional shipment is a reservation of resources in the warehouse from a 3PL  They reserved a certain capacity to unload or load a number of packaging units for you. You as a carrier must confirm this reservation. In the settings of your company in this community, you will find the number of hours upfront the actual timeslot that you need to confirm. If the reservation is not confirmed before that number of hours before the actual reservation time, Streamliner deletes the reservation and free the reserved capacity for  other stakeholders. 

Step 1: Go to the 'Shipments' section

Step 2: select the location where you want to create provisional shipments

Step 3: Using provisional shipments

You recognize a provisional shipment on, the calendar icon and on the missing principal information. 

• Select the provisional shipment that you want to confirm
• click on 'Edit shipment' in the context menu. 
• 
• Select the principal and set the reference for the first package
• Add or correct the packaging units.
• And confirm with book slot

So, you are ready to start using provisional shipments. Enjoy this block of functionality.
