A principal is your customer, the company that stores goods in your warehouses.
Setup a principal
Setting up a principal is almost identical as inviting a supplier or a carrier. There are one or two extra actions to describe, depending on your workflow.
1. You need to link a principal to the zones where the carriers will load or unload goods for the principal. This helps the carrier to limit the choices he has to make.
2. You have to set the consent, to create package in name of the principal, to on if you create packages in name of the principal.
Steps:
- Invite the company with role principal
- Send the information about the mini-guides: see I'm a principal
- Be sure that your principal configures at least 1 location as pickup location.
- Explain and follow up that the principal is inviting his carriers/suppliers. The companies that need to book a slot to load or unload at your warehouse. if needed, you can invite carriers for your principal your self by using the action 'Invite this carrier for Principal' after selecting the carrier in the companies page.
- and the action that is less evident or natural: link the principal to the zones where this principal is storing goods.
-
- select your location
- select the zone
- click on 'principals' to add or manage the principals that can load or unload goods.
- The carrier has first to select the principal and then we show the zones that are linked together with the operation.
- and last but not least, but only if you create packages in name of the principal
- Set the switch 'Consent to allow Community Owner' to on. Select the principal on the company page to do so.
-
Congratulation, you just have setup your first principal. Now you can start in full transparency to manage goods for your customer.
