Click on ‘Manage Account’ and verify your company name and it’s VAT N°. This is how Univar Solutions and your carriers will see your company.
Verify or complete the address of your company in the ‘Billing details’. No billing is involved, no credit card needed.
Adding your company logo is optional but recommended for better visibility.
4. Support the flow of goods by creating your DC or factory. Required step.
4.1. General
Streamliner supports the sustainability and the transparency of the supply chain.
Streamliner gives the users a view on the different locations that are used in the supply chain.
This information can be used to quickly validate addresses to pick-up locations for a carrier and to validate the time zones of the users/locations. On a longer term, you can use this information to visualize the different transportation flows that are in use, even with the volumes between the different locations to optimize your flows. And if you wish, we can share this information with you for the CO2 calculations.
We strongly advise to add the different locations in your own supply chain that are involved in your relationship as supplier with the Univar Solutions. This step is required if you involve carrier companies;
4.2. Supply Chain.
In the menu option ‘Supply Chain’ you can add the location(s).
You can make this as complex as you want, but start as simple as possible. Just add your location to the root folder, if you have only 1 or 2 locations that need to be shared as pick-up location with a type ‘Factory’ or ‘Distribution Center’
Every location has a name, a type, an address that has to be found by google maps, a telephone number and a switch to indicate if Yard management will be active Yes or No.
Enabling Yard management, enables the functionality to assign pick-up locations when you pass transport orders to a carrier. You can not assign a transport order to a carrier or to an internal logistics department if there’s no pick-up location defined.
if you need pick up locations the switch has to be set to on. Other settings like ERP preference time slot, time windows, days open opening hours are not important for pick up location. Just skip these at the moment.
5. Fine tune your profile and invite extra users.
5.1. Your profile
You can update your profile by clicking on the top right icon and selecting ‘My profile’. Add information like an avatar to improve your experience. This information is visible to carrier companies and Univar Solutions.
5.2. Invite additional users.
Please give every user who will collaborate with your carrier companies and/or who will follow-up the received orders and collaborate to deliver, a personal login. Making it personal improves the experience and gives a clear responsibility for everyone to contribute.
Inviting extra users is done via the menu ‘users’. At least the name, personal email and role are required fields. The explanation of the different roles is found on the knowledge base. But add at least 1 with the role ‘Company Owner’
See our knowledge base for all user management articles.
Every user that you invite will receive an invitation in her/his mailbox to join the Streamliner platform, exactly like you received.
6. Invite your carriers.
Streamliner is a B2B platform that fosters collaboration in the inbound supply chain. Invite your carriers to join the Univar Solutions community as companies with the carrier role. Do not invite them as users in your company.
Carriers will manage their own companies, emails, and receive transport orders or delivery notes from you to book slots. You only need their VAT number or an email from a responsible party if the carrier company hasn't onboarded yet.
The miniguide describes the following steps:
- Invite your carriers to participate in the community
- Create a transport order and assign to a carrier
- Follow up if carrier takes the initiative to book a slot
In the next chapter, chapter 7, we explain how to automate the step to create a transport order if needed.
7. Information flow from you to your carrier.
Invited carrier companies do not have access to your orders. Visibility on purchase orders is restricted to you and Univar Solutions. To enable carriers to book delivery slots, you need to create a 'Package' (delivery note, ASN, DESADV, or transport order) containing delivery instructions.
This step can be automated in Streamliner in various ways:
- Integrate the delivery notes from your IT system with Streamliner
- Automate the creation of a package with default settings if you work with only one carrier.
Please contact the support of Streamliner to discuss the possibilities if needed. We are there to help you.
And once again, welcome aboard!
